     Korean Meat Marinade

Category   Entrees - Maindishes
Sub Category   None

Ingredients
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup Kikkoman soy sauce
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 scallion, chopped
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon sesame seeds, roasted
1/2 teaspoon MSG (optional)
your choice of meat, good with chicken or beef

Instructions
Mix all ingredients except the sesame seeds together. To roast sesame seeds, put them in a cast iron frying pan and heat at medium temp.stirring constantly until golden brown. This can also be done on the tray of a toaster oven, but watch carefully and stir often so they don't burn.
Add sesame seeds to the other ingredients immediately and stir together. Pour over meat and marinate 2 to 4 hours or even over-night. I sometmes freeze the meat in the marinade, if I don't want to cook it right away.
Grill the meat using the marinade to baste. If you can't get sesame oil, canola or corn oil will do, but with less flavor.
Serving Suggestions
We've had this with chicken, steak, short ribs and beef kabobs. Probably would be good with fish or lamb as well.
