Cut butter into 3 equal pieces. Melt in microwave 2 of the butter pieces. Set aside.
In a bowl combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Blend well.
I a separate bowl mash banana until smooth. Add milk, eggs and vanilla until well blended.
Add Banana mixture, melted butter and flour mixture all together until well blended. Batter will be a little lumpy.
Over medium heated griddle, melt remaining butter. Pour batter evenly across griddle about 3 inches apart. Cook until a few holes form on top of each pancake and the undersides are golden brown, about 2 minutes.
Makes about 12 pancakes.
