Oil for frying
For Batter- In shallow bowl, combine flour, baking
powder, salt, thyme, sugar and pepper; set aside.
Beat egg and combine with water and lemon juice;
stir into dry flour mixture until smooth.
In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, heat
one inch of oil. Fry fish, few fillets at a time,
for 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until golden
brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve with tarter
sauce or your favorite dipping sauce
