Put some carrots in the crockpot. (baby carrots can be used whole, this is a good way to use old carrots.) Add a piece of celery, (I save the ends from making celery sticks and use one of those pieces. Or I chop the ends from making celery sticks, freeze them in a ziplock bag and keep in the freezer to add to recipes.) Put the roast on top of the veggies, then sprinkle with pepper and Worcestershire sauce (to taste). Add a can of beef broth or about a cup of water and beef boullion or skip and just add water. Cook 8-10 hours in the crockpot. If you want to cook in the oven, brown the roast first, then use the same ingredients and bake slowly at 300 degrees in a covered pan. I prefer the crockpot method. use the broth to make gravy. (The more liquid you use, the more gravy you will have. ) I like to chop up the leftovers, boil a little onion and chopped potatoes in a pan, add the leftovers and any leftover gravy and call it Hash.)
