Drain peaches, reserving 1/2 cup of the syrup. Combine sugar, flour, nutmeg, and salt. Add reserved syrup. Cook stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Add butter and then peaches. Pour into pie crust. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon. Add pie top and pinch the top dough into the bottom dough. With a fork or knife, prick the pie top several times to allow steam and juices to escape. Bake at 400 degrees and bake until golden brown which will be between 35 - 40 minutes. Remove from heat and cool before serving.
