Combine 2 cups water, 3 cups caster sugar, 250g butter, 1/3
cup cocoa, 1tsp bicarbonate of soda in a medium saucepan
and stir over heat til sugar dissolves, bring to boil, reduce and
simmer for 5min uncovered. Transfer to a bowl and cool to
room temperature.
Add 3 cups selfraising, 4 medium eggs to the bowl and beat till
mixture is smooth and paler colour.
Bake for 50min at 170 deg (fan).
Cake tin size 26x33cm or deep 9inch round.
