Mix spices together in bowl. Put rub on outside and inside of chicken. Pour out (or drink) 1/2 the can of beer and insert into chicken. Grill chicken at 300F to 350F with cover down vent closed. Add hickory or apple chips to charcoal. Grill for 1 hour 15 minutes or until internal temp reaches 165F in the breast and 180F in the thigh. Remove from grill and let rest for 10 minutes before carving.
