Barely cover first three ingredients with ice water.
Soak for three hours.
Drain cucumbers and onions, rinse a couple of times.
Bring pickling spice, vinegar, and sugar to a boil.
Add cucumbers and onions. Bring mixture to a boil
again, then simmer 1 to 2 minutes. Put in hot,
sterile jars. Wipe tops and seal.
Process is a water bath canner for 10 minutes.
