2 oz. orange liqueur (such as Grand Marnier or Cointreau)
1 c dark rum
4 fresh orange zest strips for garnish
Instructions
In cocktail shaker, combine chocolate sugar, bitters and cherries and muddle with cocktail muddler or dull end of a wooden spoon until cherries are smashed and sugar begins to liquify. Add orange liqueur and rum.
Place lid on cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
As this point mixture can be divided amongst 4 small glass jars tied with raffia or ribbon and refrigerated to give. One serving each.
Serve over ice and garnish with orange zest strip in highball glass or shake with ice in cocktail shaker and serve up as martini.
