1 C bourbon (preferable homemade Spiced Pear Infused Bourbon
1/2 C cranberry juice cocktail
juice of 1/2 lemon
4 T simple syrup
fresh whole cranberries for garnish
Instructions
Mix together all ingredients & shake over ice. May serve straight up in a chilled martini glass or over ice. Garnish with cranberries.
Simple Syrup- Bring 1/2 C sugar - 1/2 C water to a boil to dissolve. Cool & store in the fridge for 1 month.
I add a hand full of fresh whole cranberries to the hot simple syrup to slightly soften & sweeten them.
May also substitute vodka for bourbon. Also good with orange rather than lemon. Also good as a punch with sparkling wine/club soda/gingerale. If using gingerale, hold the simple syrup & add to taste or may come out too sweet.
