Wash strawberries and remove stems; roughly
chop them. Set aside 1/3 of the strawberries.
Combine the other 2/3 of strawberries, sugar,
and vanilla in a saucepan. Cook over medium-
high heat, stirring occasionally. Cook for
about 15 minutes mashing the strawberry chunks
with a whisk. Add the rest f the strawberries
and cook another 5 minutes. Use hot or cold and
store in refrigerator.
