Bake in 2 wax paper lined and greased 9 inch layer pans in 350° oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool.
Lemon Filling- In double boiler combine the sugar, flour, egg yolks, butter and lemon juice and rind.

7 Minute Frosting- 2 egg whites, 1-1/2 c sugar, 1-1/2 tsp light corn syrup or 1/4 tsp cream of tartar, 1/3 c cold water, dash of salt and 1 tsp vanilla extract. To make, in a double boiler, combine all ingredients, except vanilla. Cook, beating constantly with electric beater about 7 minutes or until mixture forms peaks. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and beat until mixture reaches spreading consistency.
