1. Brown beef and onions, drain.
2. Add tomatoes, paste and spices. Heat to boiling and simmer 30 minutes. Discard bay leaf.
3. Mix (beat) eggs. Mix in cottage cheese and 1/2 cup parmesan cheese.
4. Layer in 9X13 pan or 2 9X9 pans- noodles, meat, cheese mixture, mozzeralla. Usually 3 layers each.
5. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
