Preheat oven to 450 degrees for at least 30 minutes while
prime rib comes to room temp.
Place first six ingredients in medium bowl and mix together.
Add oil, pepper and salt. Rub over roast. Place on rack in
large roasting pan, bone side down.

Bake uncovered 20 minutes, then reduce temp to 325
degrees. Continue to cook until thermometer reads 140
degrees approx. 17-20 minutes cooking time per pound.

Once reaches target temp, remove roast and let rest 20
minutes. The roast will continue to cook as juices inside settle.

|
|
Meanwhile, in small saucepan, bring to broth and wine to a
boil; cook until liquid is reduced to 1 cup. Remove from heat;
stir in butter and salt. Slice roast; serve with sauce. Yields 8
servings.
