Rinse turkey and pat dry with paper towels. Rub oil over turkey. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. place, meaty side up, in large slow cooker. Place onion and garlic around sides of cooker. Cover. Cook on low 9-10 hours, or until meat thermometer stuck in meaty party of breast registers 180 degrees. Remove from slow cooker and let stand 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with mashed potatoes, cranberry salad and corn or green beans.
