Dissolve yeast in water in a big bowl. Soak for 5
minutes and do not stir - let dissolve. Stir just
before you add warm milk, sugar, eggs, shortening,
and salt in the large bowl.
Stir in 3 1/2 cups flour until mixed.
Keep adding other 3 1/2 cups flour. When mixed
together knead the dough for 5 minutes. Cover
the bowl with a damp cloth in a warm place (85
degrees) and let rise for 1 1/2 hours.
Punch down the dough. Let it rise again for 30
minutes. Punch down and divide dough into two
equal parts.
Roll dough out (doing one part at a time).
Spread rolled out dough with 2 tablespoon melted
butter. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar and 2
teaspoon cinnamon. Roll up dough and cut into 1
inch slices. Place in greased 9 x 13 pan or
muffin tins. Let them rise for 35 to 40 in
greased pan in warm place until risen. Bake at
375 degree oven for 25 - 30 minutes. Cool and
frost with powder sugar frosting.
