1 onion peeled and halved

3 cups dry pinto beans, rinsed

1/4 to 1/2 fresh jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped

2 tbs minced garlic

3 tsp salt
|

1 3/4 ground tsp ground black pepper
|
|
1/8 tsp ground cumin
|
|
5 cups water
|
|
4 cups chicken broth
|
|
|
|
Place in slow cooker for 7 hrs. Can remove some liquid and

|
whip or mash to desired consistency.
