1/2 Cup Crisco Shortening
|

1 1/2 Cups Sugar
|

4 Eggs, separated
|

3 Cups Gold Medal Flour, sifted

3 Teaspoons Baking Powder
|

1/2 Teaspoon Salt
|
|
1 Cup Milk
|
|
3/4 Teaspoon Lemon Extract
|
|
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
|
|

1 Square Chocolate, melted
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

Instructions |
|
|
Cream together shortening and sugar.
Add egg yolks and beat until smooth.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
|
|
|
To the wet mixture, alternately add the dry ingredients with the milk.
Beat egg whites until stiff. Carefully fold into the cake batter.

|
Divide the batter into 2 bowls.
To one bowl, add the melted chocolate and vanilla extract.
To the other bowl, add the lemon extract.
|
|
|
Pour batter into greased 9x13 inch cake pan.
Drag a knife blade through the batters to very slightly mix them.
