1 Cup Sugar

2 Eggs,beaten

1/4 Cup Orange Juice

2 Tablespoons Orange Rind, grated

1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

2 Cups Flour, sifted
|

1/2 Teaspoon Salt
|
|
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
|
|

2 Cups Quick Oats
|
|
1/2 Cup Dates, chopped
|
|
1/2 Cup English Walnuts, chopped
|

Instructions |
|
|
Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs and beat until smooth.
Add orange juice and rind and vanilla extract and blend well.
|

Stir in flour, salt, and baking soda.
Add oatmeal, nuts and dates.
Mix well.
|
|
|
Drop by spoonful onto greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes.
