cream together butter and sugars until smooth.
beat in eggs 1 at a time. stir in vanilla.
dissolve baking soda in hot water. add to
batter along with salt. stir in flour,
chocolate chips and nuts. drop large spoonfuls
onto pan line with parchment paper
