     Butter Pecan Turtle Cookies

Ingredients
For the Crust -
2 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
For the caramel layer -
2/3 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup pecans (halved)
 
For Topping -
1 cup milk chocolate bits

Instructions
In a bowl combine crust ingredients and mix at medium speed until combined. Press into an ungreased 9-by-13-inch pan. Spread pecans evenly over unbaked crust.
In a saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Boil for 30 seconds to 1 minute, stirring constantly. Pour over pecans on unbaked crust. Heat oven to 350 degrees and bake for 18 to 22 minutes until caramel layer is bubbly and crust is light golden brown.
Remove from oven, sprinkle with chocolate chips. Let chips melt slightly for 2 to 3 minutes. Use a knife to swirl chips as they melt to cover bars.
