Melt margarine in saucepan. Saute onion until tender. Blend in flour. Gradually add chicken broth. Cook, stirring constantly until mixture thickens slightly
Stir in salt, chicken, carrots, and almonds. Simmer about 15 minutes.
When ready to serve, stir in half and half and heat to serving temperature. Refrigerate leftovers and when needed bring back to boil and add half and half and heat to serving temperature.
