2 oz red food coloring (you may use 1oz of food coloring and 1oz water)
1/4 cup cocoa
3 cups flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 cup milk
FROSTING:
3oz. cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup confectioners sugar, sifted
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Instructions
Cream butter, oil and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and beat after each addition. Add red coloring and vanilla. Sift flour, cocoa, salt and baking powder together and add alternately with milk.
Bake in greased and floured 10-inch tube pan at 325 degrees for about 1-1/4 hours or until cake tests done. Frost with cream cheese frosting.
For FROSTING: cream everything together (except nuts)and frost cake. Sprinkle nuts on top.
