1 head of lettuce, shredded
|

1 303 Can LeSeur English Peas, chilled and drained
|

1 large red onion, sliced and pulled apart in rings
|
|
1 8-oz. can sliced water chestnuts, chilled and drained
|

1 cup mayonaise
|
|
2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
|
|
7 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
|

Instructions |

|
Put lettuce on bottom of pretty, clear bowl. Spread peas on lettuce, Place onion rings on top of peas, then place water chestnuts on onion rings.

Cover the entire surface with mayonnaise ( as icing a cake ).
|
|
|
Top mayo with cheese and then crumbled bacon. Cover with plastic wrap. Make 12 to 24 hours in advance for best taste.
