1 peck of apple pie mix apples - peeled, cored & sliced
|

2 tablespoons lemon juice
|
|
1/2 cup sugar
|
|
1/2 cup brown sugar
|
|
1 teaspoon cinnamon
|
|
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
|
|
1/4 teaspoon salt
|
|
2 tablespoons flour
|
|
3/4 c chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions |
|
|
Put apples in large bowl and add lemon juice; toss. Mix sugars,
cinnamon, nutmeg & salt together in small bowl.

Add flour and walnuts (optional) to apples & toss together. Add sugar
mixture to apples and toss, covering thoroughly.
|
|
|
Divide apples between 3 pies. Dot each with butter. Cover pies with
top crust & stab with fork to vent.
|
|
|
Bake at 375 for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Cover rack or bottom of oven
with foil or pan, as filling may drip during baking.
