Mix dry ingredients. Work in butter (as for pie crust).

Add beaten egg and milk. Mix well.
|
|
|
Drop from spoon in boiling broth or gravy, and reduce heat.
|
|
|
Cook 15 minutes with cover ON. DO NOT REMOVE COVER or dumplings will fall.
