Preheat oven to 350 deg. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl until creamy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in 1 cup morsels and nuts.
Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheet. Top with remaining morsels. Bake 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 2 minutes, then remove to wire rack to cool.
NOTE - If omitting nuts,add 1 to 2 Tbsp of flour. These are really soft cookies.
