Sift together baking soda, salt, cocoa, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, allspice, and flour; set aside.
In large bowl, cream together butter, sugar, and eggs.
Added sifted dry ingredients alternately with applesauce to batter.
In small bowl, combine dates, raisins, and nuts. Toss 1-2 T. flour with dried fruit and nuts to coat. Stir in floured fruit/nuts and apples to batter.
Grease a 9x13 pan and spread batter in pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
