Mix chicken, cream cheese, chives, milk and salt in med. Mixing bowl (mixing with hands work best) to make filling.
Unroll crescent rolls, create rectangles by pressing dough along perforation so the halves do not separate.
Place about ¼ c of chicken mixture into the center of each rectangle. Fold dough over filling, and pinch edges tightly to seal. (can be frozen at this point)
Dip each packet in melted butter, and coat with croûton crumbs. Place packets on baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
