Prepare and bake chocolate cake according to box directions. When the cake is done, poke holes in the cake with a wooden spoon.
Mix together sweetened condensed milk and caramel sauce. When the cake is done, poke holes in the cake with a wooden spoon and poor mixture over the top. Refrigerate the cake for 2-3 hours.
Crumble the butterfingers and sprinkle over the top of the cake. Top with cool whip and sprinkle some more butterfinger if you choose.
