Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

|
Melt butter in a 13x9x2 inch pan.
Sprinkle brown sugar evenly in pan.
Arrange pineapple slices on sugar.
Put a cherry half in center of each slice.

|
Prepare cake as directed on package. Turn batter over fruit and spread evenly.
|
|
|
Bake 250 degrees for 43 to 48 minutes.
Cake is done if toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Let stand for 5 minutes to set topping.
Loosen cake from pan and turn upside down on platter.
