In heavy saucepan melt butter and saute onions and mushrooms until tender. Stir in flour until no lumps remain
Slowly whisk in broth and then warmed milk. Heat on medium to simmer. simmer 10 minutes. Turn heat to low and add heavy cream. Mix in thoroughly. Stir in wine and seasonings. Taste and adjust seasoning
Bring just to simmer. Remove from heat and serve
