1/2 c. (1 stick) plus 5 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
2/3 c. Sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 c. sour crea
1/2 c dark-brown sugar
2 lg granny smith apples, peeled, cored, cut into 1/4 in slices
Instructions
Heat Oven to 365. Mix flour, baking powder and salt in a med-size bowl; set aside. Using as electric mixer on high speed, beat 1/2 c. of the butter in a lg bowl for 1 min or until creamy. Add granulated sugar and continue to beat until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla, and beat until blended. Reduce speed to low. gradually blend in flour mixture, then sour cream. Melt remaining 5 tbsp butter in a ovenproof 10 in skillet. Add brown sugar; stir 2 min
Add apples slices to pan and reduce heat to med-low. Cook for about 10 min. or until tender. Let cool for 5 min
Spoon batter over apples and spread to edge of pan. bake at 375 for 30 min or until golden brown. Cool on rack for 20 min. Run knife around edge. Carefully invert onto plate.
