1 pound Ground beef
|

1 onion, chopped
|

1/2 cup white rice
|
|
1 16 oz can sauerkraut
|
|
1 cup water
|
|
salt and pepper to taste

Instructions |
|
|
Brown ground beef in skillet or pot that has a tight fitting cover. Drain off excess fat.
|

|
Add chopped onion and cook until slightly brown
|
|
|
Add rice, water, sauerkraut. Add salt and pepper to taste. Sauerkraut is very salty, so add salt carefully.
|
|
|
Bring to boil, reduce heat to low. Cover, and cook until rice is done. Adjust seasonings.
Good the first day. Even better 2 or 3 days later.
