In large pot, place oil, chicken base, onion and spices. Saute
onions until soft and clear (about 5 minutes).
In separate container, mix Masa Harina with 1 quart of water. Stir
until all lumps are dissolved. Add to sauteed onions and bring to
boil. Boil 2 to 3 minutes to eliminate raw taste of Masa Harina.
Add remaining water and tomatoes. Return to boil, stirring
occasionally. Add cheese to soup. Cook stirring occasionally until
cheese melts. Add chicken and heat through.
