Homemade pizza was always a given whenever I went to Illinois to visit my mother's parents. I remember coming into the Victorian style house in the suburbs outside of Chicago and have it smelling of tomato paste and cooking dough. I loved the pizza my Grandmother made, the cheese never slid off the bread and there wasn't too much tomato paste. It was great except when she made pizza with sausage on it. I generally like sausage but whenever she made the sausage, she used strange spices and herbs. Never wanting to hurt her feelings, I would secretly discard the sausage and continue eating.

Once you have all the ingredients, you start off by preheating the oven to around 250 degrees. While the oven is heating up, start flattening out the dough onto a pizza pan with a roller covered in flour. The flour prevents the dough from sticking to the roller and causing a lot of frustration. Next, after the dough is flat, put an even coating of tomato paste on the dough and add the cheese.
