Melt Crisco and cool. Add sugar, molasses and egg. Beat, by hand, with a wooden spoon.
Sift dry ingredients together. Add to first mixture. Beat well, by hand, with a wooden spoon.
CHILL overnight or for a minimum of 12 hours.
Form dough into balls the size of an egg yolk. Roll in granulated sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet approximately 2 inches apart.
Bake @ 375° for 8-10 minutes.
