In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil without strring for 4 minutes. While this is cooking, pour the popcorn across the baking pans to warm. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in baking soda and vanilla. Take the popcorn out of the oven. Slowly pour over the popcorn. Pour into two large shallow baking dishes and bake in oven for 1 hour- stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool completely before eating- breaking into pieces.
