Cream together oleo, sugar and dark karo syrup. Add eggs and grated lemon rind - beat well.

Add spices to 4 cups of flour, add these 4 cups first - - then add additional flour (2 1/2 to 3 cups) to make stiff dough. Use hands to mix in last cup or so

|
Refrigerate dough till chilled - - can leave overnight or several days
|
|
|
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out and bake for 10 to 12 minutes. (1 1/2 to roll out 2 hrs to bake)
