In large bowl, microwave milk, sugar and shortening for 5 minutes.
Mix dry ingredients well (all purpose flour, baking soda, salt and yeast). Add warm liquid to dry ingredients and mix well.
Add enough bran and flour to make a soft dough. Knead, cover and let rise for 2 hours. Turn out on floured board and knead till stiff. Place in greased bowl, cover and refrigerate overnight. Punch down occasionally.
Form dough into rolls and place in greased muffin tins. Let rise 2 hours, until doubled in size. Bake at 400 degrees until lightly brown.
