2 1/2 c flour
|

5 T shortening
|
|
1/4 t salt
|
|
1/2 c cold butter cut into 1/2 inch pieces

2 T sugar
|

1/2 c ice water

|

|

Instructions |
|
|
Mix sugar, flour, and salt in a plastic bag
|
|
|
Add the chilled butter and shortening to the bag. Press down with
the palms of your hands to coat all butter and shortening with flour.
|
|
|
Open the bag and add ice water. Reseal, shake, and press until the
dough holds together.
|
|
|
Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead together, and divide
in half. Roll into 12 inch diameter disks to line a 9 inch pie pan.
