3 lbs. okra, cut
|
|
1 large onion, choppped
|
|
1 or 2 firm tomatoes, chopped
|
|
1 tsp. salt
|
|
Red pepper and garlic powder to taste
|
|
1 tsp. lemon juice
|
|
3 tbsp. bacon drippings or olive oil
|
|

Instructions |
|
|
In heavy skillet, heat oil or drippings. Sprinkle
okra with lemon. Brown okra and onions. Add tomatoes
and seasonings.

Place cover on skillet and steam about 10 minutes.
|
|
|
Okra will try to stick to pan and form crust, so
keep lifting and turning with spatula.
